Ant Control

Foraging ants cause a nuisance as they travel widely in search of food, following well-defined trails and clustering around the food source. Sweet foods are preferred. However, their economic importance may be considerably more than just being nuisances. They damage or contaminate food, damage plants or household good. They may bite or sting or make mounds in gardens. In gardens their excavation around plant roots make the soil excessively dry.

Residual insecticide sprays are usually effective in the treatment against ants and our approved residual treatment formulation will be applied thoroughly at each nest area and its surrounding areas for complete control. This way the routes to food and water would be cut off and the entire colony surrounded and eradicated.

Mosquito control

Mosquitoes are not only annoying, but they are also extremely dangerous as carriers of diseases such as malaria, yellow fever and dengue. Mosquito eggs are laid in water and their larvae and pupae live in water, The Aedes species breeds in rain pools, floodwater, roadside puddles or practically any temporary body of fresh water. Adults can migrate long distances from their hatching place - 5 to 10 miles is rather common and females are vicious biters, especially at dusk and after dark and are attracted to light.

Control measures Include our client's co-operation on the reduction of mosquito breeding places within their own environment. Wherever possible, all standing water should be eliminated by filling or by draining e.g. by repairing broken drains or removing accumulated leaves from gutters to allow water to flow freely and not become stagnant.

When all possible water elimination has been accomplished, mosquito eggs, larvae and pupae can then be controlled by the use of chemicals. For the adult mosquitoes, space treatment using thermal fog generator is the most useful technique. The machines produce a dense fog of insecticide which results in a greater area coverage with less insecticide to kill adult mosquitoes.

Cockroach control

Cockroaches infest homes, restaurants, office buildings; and any other environment that meet their needs for warmth, moisture and food. They contaminate food with their body, salivary secretions and excrement, carry micro-organisms that can cause human intestinal diseases, induce allergic reactions in sensitive individuals, deface walls and other surfaces with unsightly spots, and produce their characteristic foul odor.Infestations may be introduced as egg cases or adults In incoming supplies or arise as the insects enter buildings via drains, gully traps or refuse chutes. Lack of sanitation on any premises can be conducive to their spread.

Effective treatment depends upon the selection of a suitable insecticide and subsequent thorough application. Our treatment methods include residual spray at and around the cockroach harboragesfocusing on cracks and crevices where they are likely to occur. Gel bait are used in areas where spraying cannot be applied.

Snake control

Our snake control programinvolves the application of a snake repellent at the perimeter fence to help deter snakes from entering your garden and house. Applied areas will be checked at monthly intervals and the repellent promptly replenished to ensure continued protection.

What you can do to keep snakes out:

  1. Trim grass well and prune dense foliage and undergrowth regularly.
  2. Remove unwanted materials, logs and pots as these are favoritehideouts for snakes.
  3. Dispose off uneaten food properly, otherwise this may attract rats which in turn Invite their predators, the snakes.
  4. Insects, amphibians and lizards may attract their predators, the paradise tree snakes. It is advisable to fumigate your premises periodically.
  5. Keep branches and creepers clear of windows. Snakes may use them to enter the premises.
  6. Drain ponds regularly and keep them clean. The Re-ticulated Python is especially fond of water. Improperly kept ponds tend to harborfrogs and toads which are preyed upon by many species of snakes,
  7. Rearing/presence of chickens, pigeons and other small animals, like guinea pigs, may attract snakes.
  8. Fill all burrows, holes and crevices in walls and the ground. They provide excellent hiding places for snakes.
  9. Screen all ventilation openings and sewerage outlets with weather-resistant mesh or gratings.

Hollandia Pest Services represents probably the largest fumigation company in Singapore . All our fumigators are duly licensed by the National Environment Agency of Singapore (NEA) to perform fumigation by means of Methyl Bromide and Hydrogen Phosphide (Phostoxin) and Hydrogen Cyanide. Our treatment specifications are guided by standards laid down by the Food and Agriculture Organizationof the United Nations (FAO), Australia (AQIS/ICON), and by the Agri-food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) for ISPM 15 fumigation requirements.

Subterranean Termites

Commonly known as "White Ants"

Besides eating up wood structures, which can endanger human lives when the main support beams in the roof give way, they also attack books, wire insulation and other materials containing cellulose. Subterranean Termites enter buildings through tiny cracks in footings, foundations, expansion joints and utility service portals. Because subterranean termites eat away wood from the inside, damage can be quite extensive before it is noticed. It is false to assume that termites only attack old and dilapidated buildings. All buildings, old or new, fabricated wholly or partly of wood is likely to be infested.

Rodent control

Rats and mice eat almost everything used as food by man and livestock. Everyday they Inflict enormous losses by destroying and damaging property and by consuming, spoiling and contaminating foodstuffs. They gnaw Into fabrics of all kinds, as well as into wood, sacks and other packaging materials. On their prowls, rats and mice come into contact with and pick up disease germs of all kinds. Shortly after they have been rummaging in filth and rubbish the same rat may perhaps appear in restaurants or in the kitchen. Rats and mice therefore, endanger human health by carrying and spreading such diseases as plague, murine typhus, food poisoning (salmonellosis) and rat-bite fever.

Control measures include a proper survey to Identify the type and extent of infestation, the breeding places or harborages openings where rodents enter the building and method and control most suitable for the premises.

Rat proofing measures, where necessary, will be identified for client's necessary attention and any sanitary/housekeeping problems will also be reported. Sanitation is the backbone of a successful rat control program, The elimination of rat shelter, food and water can mean the difference between success or failure in controlling rats.

Our control measures will Include the establishment of bait stations containing the most effective rodenticide and the deployment of glue boards and traps in areas where baits cannot be used. Any complaints of dead rats etc. will be promptly attended to by our technicians and the carcasses removed without any extra charge.
